The lovebirds ultimately could not locate the suitcase after landing but headedto Sandals Grande St. Lucian Resort, where they were staying, to see if it would turn up.

The new bride then claims they spent the next two days of the vacation ringing Delta Airlines baggage service team to try and locate it.

In the meantime, Shane was left with no choice but to 'dress like a hotel employee,' and sport the resort's branded clothing while his luggage was being tracked down.

Hilarious photos show the software sales worker rocking a Sandals white-branded polo top and cap while posing for holiday snaps alongside his new wife.

He candidly admitted how he was forced to 'go commando' for days on end without wearing any underwear - as nowhere sold any nearby.

Despite the suitcase eventually being shipped to their hotel, the newlyweds say the incident has left them 'frustrated,' as they had to put their honeymoon on pause for three days.

Nonetheless, Bailey said she found her husband's hotel outfit hilarious and admits he was stared at by other guests when walking around the resort.

She said: 'It felt like I was walking around with a hotel employee when he had his hotel merch on.

'It was hilarious. We were laughing the whole time.

'He was walking through the whole resort in his gear and I felt like he was getting some funny looks.

'No one thought that he was actually working there but I felt like he looked like an employee.

'Shane had brought all of his best clothes - all of his medication, contact lenses, toiletries and his underwear.

'All the stuff he needed to survive on the island he didn't have.'

She continued: 'Luckily, the hotel gave us some merch to get by. They gave Shane toiletries and his outfit.

'He was given the Sandals polo top and then he bought the hat himself.

'He didn't get any underwear as they didn't have it.

'There was only one shop at the resort and it didn't sell it so he had to go without underwear. That was a kicker.

'He had to buy swim shorts so he could wear them but had no underwear.'

Bailey explained: 'The first couple of days we struggled to not think about [the missing bag].

'We didn't know what we were going to do eight days away without his suitcase.

'It was very frustrating and it stopped us from hiking and doing things we wanted to do as he didn't have the gear to do activities.

'It definitely put our honeymoon on hold for three days.'

Shane said while he also found his new hotel outfit funny, at one point he thought he would never see his $4,000 worth of clothes and items again.

He explained: 'At first, it said the luggage had been delivered so we waited at St Lucia airport for two extra hours to see if they could find it.

'When I get back from my honeymoon, I am going straight on a work trip, so I was thinking about whether I would have clothes for [it].

'I didn't think I'd ever see the bag again and that was a big concern at that point.'

Fortunately, after three days, the pair were able to track down his suitcase to Dallas, Texas, where they claim Delta Airlines never put his luggage on the plane.

Bailey said: 'We think Delta were the ones responsible for losing the bag.

'When we got into Saint Lucia, we had no idea what was going on, so we were just going back and forth with the airport customs for hours.

'We didn't end up getting to the resort until later that night so we missed out on our whole first day.'

Bailey added: 'Over the next few days, we called every number we could find and no one was really helpful. We were ringing the Delta Airlines baggage service team at Saint Lucia.

'There were thousands of dollars [worth of items] in his bag and this was not good enough.

'My mother-in-law finally got someone on the phone in Atlanta which was where our layover was.

'She was able to find the suitcase and get it sent out to us.It had got stuck in Dallas, so [Delta Airlines] never put it on the flight.'

Since having their luggage returned, Bailey says they can now relax and enjoy the rest of their holiday - their itinerary is still packed with activities including couple's massages, waterfall viewing, and beach days.

The duo said that they have not put in an official complaint to Delta Airlines yet, as they want to soak up what is left of their honeymoon, but they shared that they will once they return to the States.

A spokesperson for Delta Airlines said: 'Delta teams are looking into what occurred, and stand ready to contact them to make this right.

'We are sorry to hear of this disruption to their honeymoon plans.'
